The Weightlifting Academy of Tasmania will again host an Intensive Training Camp for Weightlifting on 11-13 January, 2019. This is a change from the earlier 5-day format previously advertised.
The 3-day program will include twice daily training sessions, and comprehensive series of lectures, talks, Q&A sessions, debriefings throughout the camp.
Training will have a major emphasis on technical performance and the development of strength, coordination and control, speed and agility, balance and stability and other qualities needed by the Weightlifter.
Lectures and talks will focus on important topics as follows:
- Key Concepts of Weightlifting Technique,
- Principles for Effective Training,
- Nutrition for Bodyweight Management,
- Injury Prevention and Management
- Preparation for Major Competitions
Q&A sessions is where participants will be able to ask any questions related to Weightlifting.
The camp leader will be Leo Isaac, a leading Weightlifting coach in Australia and recently head coach of the senior national team in the past 3 years.
