The Weightlifting Academy of Tasmania will again host an Intensive Training Camp for Weightlifting on 10-12 January, 2019.

The 3-day program will include twice daily training sessions, a lecture in the afternoon, a Q&A session in the morning and daily debriefings.

Training will have a major emphasis on technical performance and the development of strength, coordination and control, speed and agility, balance and stability and other qualities needed by the Weightlifter.

The lecture/talks program will focus on important topics as follows:

  • Key Concepts of Weightlifting Technique,
  • Principles for Effective Training,
  • Nutrition for Bodyweight Management and Making Weight
  • Injury Prevention and Management
  • Preparation for Major Competitions

Q&A sessions is where participants will be able to ask any questions related to Weightlifting.

The camp leader will be Leo Isaac, a leading Weightlifting coach in Australia and recently head coach of the senior national team in the past 3 years.
