SUPER SATURDAYS

Everyone is reminded that this Saturday ( 01 May ) is “Super Saturday”. Training is 10-12noon. There has been an uptick in members training on Saturday mornings in this session. Give some thought who you can feasibly share a platform.

For those that may not be aware, Super Saturday sessions are different in terms of coaching available. Broadly speaking there are TWO types of coaching: (a) Instructive coaching and (b) Performance coaching. Super Saturdays are about Performance Coaching and in general the session is too hectic to provide the usual level of Instructive Coaching. Here are some definitions:

Instructive coaching: Instructing the athlete so that they learn Weightlifting technique and assisting them to interpret their training program.

Performance Coaching: Observing athletes as they go through their paces, providing guidance on how heavy to go or if lifts are missed, and in general working to maintain a highly focused training environment.
