An AWF Level 1 Coach Accreditation course will be held at the Weightlifting Academy of Tasmania on 26-27 May 2018.This course caters particularly for persons entering into a coach/instructor role and needing to develop the skills and knowledge to competently and effectively teach beginners in the Olympic lifts and to establish good training methodology.

This 2-day course, certified by the Australian Weightlifting Federation, will provide an excellent foundation for anyone interested in learning the skills and methodology of Olympic Weightlifting. If you are a prospective athlete or a coach this course is for you and it does not matter whether you have previous experience of the sport. You will be involved in practical sessions where you will learn good Weightlifting technique from the ground up and theory sessions in which you will receive simple explanations of the key training principles and methodology. For those who wish to develop coaching expertise, this course will provide you with the tools and know-how to competently introduce others to Weightlifting technique and to organise their training effectively.
